The Boulder Watch Company was founded in 1653 by explorer and adventurer Elias P. Curryweather III. Before discovering Boulder, Curryweather's family had a rich and storied history in Moldovian watch making, but was driven from Moldovia by the Mad King's reign in the early 17th century. Upon discovering the lush Boulder valley, Curryweather realized that even before foodstuffs and water wells were necessary, people would need to tell time. Hence, he founded the Boulder Watch Company for all of Boulder's timekeeping and timekeeping repair needs.
